Graceful Camber VIII is a diptych ( a two part painting) made up of two 30 x 20 inch canvases, with a swirly design that flows from one piece to the next. Although it is shown here with the canvases right next to each other, most people would hang them with an inch or two of space between. The background was created using various reds, violet, purple, and magenta. The swirly lines are painted with layers of deep green, bright green, and bright blue, as well as metallic gold accents to emphasize their texture. This piece is on a deep stretcher frame with sides that are staple-free and painted black, so a frame isn't necessary. |
